World Professional Billiards & Snooker Association

The WPBSA is the sole governing body of world snooker. It was originally founded in 1968 and entitled the Professional Billiard Players’ Association. Since then, it has expanded and is now compartmentalised into multiple arms at their head office in Bristol, England.

The chief operational arm of the WPBSA is World Snooker. As well as the day-to-day running of the sport’s interests worldwide, World Snooker is responsible for administering invitational events, most notably the Masters. One other notable duty is to maintain the rules and regulations of the sport and apply them for any disciplinary measures.
