can anyone help? we were playing snooker and the blue, pink and black were lrft on the table. my opponent hit the blue ball but knocked pink in, leaving the white over the pocket. The blue meanwhile rolled right up against the white touching ball. I made my opponent play again, as it was touching ball, he had to play away from the blue onto the cushion and the white went straight into the pocket. There was no margin for error and the white was always going to fall into the pocket. Was this a void game or did i get the points legally and correctly. thx |

You get five for the foul and play the white from in-hand. Tim Dunkley |

I think in this instance, if a legal shot is not possible, you can play a deliberate foul, and it is seen as trying to play a legal shot. So in the case you describe, I would have played into the blue, given 5 away for the foul, but unlike the case when the white goes into the pocket, the blue isn't left over the pocket for you opponent to score another 5 points! |
